In 1958 a dining room was added. The bar area was enlarged and a fireplace constructed in 1962. At that time, the oval bar, unique to the area, was built. The formula the young couple used to build their creation into a local institution was as simple as it was timeworn. Offer great food at reasonable prices, provide excellent service, in a friendly atmosphere.

Our food was very good, the steak done perfectly and the bacon wrapped shrimp were perfection. I loved the soup and extensive salad bar. Enjoy!
Was extremely disappointed in the service. Waited at least 10 minutes once we were sat down for our waitress to come. We waited 40 minutes for our food, we had them box up our food because we had already had 2 drinks and was sick of sitting there, so we ate at home.
I am always impressed by Schmidty's delicious food! The chicken and dumplings soup is delicious!
