Rent Elsewhere I agree with the other reviewer. These properties are poorly managed, poorly kept. The people are very difficult to deal with and at times have used vulgarity on the phone. Unethical, unprofessional, all I can say is rent from someone else. They are vultures, esp, with older people. .Terrible property managers.

Guy is a suburban slum lord. Untrustworthy, petty, and unprofessional. 9/10 shouldn't rent.

Avoid Schermerhorn – I try to focus on the positive whenever I can, which is why it's so frustrating to have to write bad reviews. But if I can help some other poor sucker avoid these guys, then so be it. If you like poor service, aggressive-to-nonresponsive building managers, crumbling apartments, shoddy repairs, and dangerous electrical wiring, by all means give Schermerhorn a try for your rental needs. I've also heard they are pretty lousy with managing condos, but I don't have first hand experience with that side of thin... read more
