Dr. Scarlet Lauro is a true professional, and her clinic is a wonderful reflection of the care that she provides. As a fellow private practice Audiologist (I run Soundscape Audiology in LA), I can appreciate the details of her waiting room - soft spa-like music, an ocean vibe, tv with whales swimming, and a friendly receptionist - Chazel! Dishonest office that takes advantage of deaf people. I asked them to repair my hearing aids that are still under manufacturer warranty but from another doctor. They fixed the hearing aids in office and charged me for the repair but then informed me that it would have been free if they shipped it off to the manufacturer. I would have chosen the free option as I don't mind waiting. Dishonest business.
Dr Aviles is very thorough and explains everything to you. It was fascinating to learn how our ears work. My husband is going to make an appointment with her now.
Since my teenage years, I accepted a constant high frequency ringing in my ears that had been diagnosed as tinnitus. Despite my reluctance to use a hearing aid, Dr. Aviles patiently educated me on the current hearing aid technology and how it would "mask" the constant ear ringing. It was abundantly clear she maintained a wealth of current knowledge of various types of hearing aids, the price range, and the pros and cons for each aid. I have been a patient of Dr. Scarlet Aviles for over 20 years and she is indeed one of the best doctors that I have gone too. She is extremely professional and thorough in what she does and I have referred a number of friends to her as well with the same results.
