For 31 years we have come to San Francisco during the Christmas holiday. We never miss eating at Scala's.

Over done and way over priced! Won't be going there again when there are so many better places to go!
One word - Unexpected. We stopped in for lunch because of its proximity to Market Street. The Caesar, the orecchiette with broccoli rabe, the Gorgonzola,prosciutto and fig pizzetta were all very goodbut the star of the show was the squash blossom flatbread - absolutely beautiful and delicious. I've had each item before at other spots but they were all just so darn tasty here. We were also well attended by our servers. Thanks so much - highly recommend.

A fabulous bartender: you ask what on the wine list is a full bodied wine and he points you to the page, then brings two samples for you without asking. A fabulous waiter: we express interest in a side dish but decide it is too much food, and he brings it anyway, on the house. The food was tremendous as was the service.
okay the food was pretty good but who charges $6 for a single glass of orange juice
