This establishment is fun, unique, affordable, and offers many different food and drink options. The new seating upstairs is spacious, and the staff is extremely friendly and hardworking. I recommend the walleye tacos because they come with a delicious mango salsa. Be sure to check out their weekly specials!
The new renovations are simply beautiful!! The upstairs seating is awesome! The new menu is a great! Lots of selections for all sorts of cravings! I loved the Memphis Bliss sandwich, it’s to die for!!! The Sawmill is a must stop on any trip to the Iron Range.

I think the food and service is excellent. Also when I have The Senior meal I still have excellent service and meal. The girls i think are nice and socialable. After a couple times going in they recognize people and make a person feel comfortable even a old guy.
This place is great! The environment is fun to hang out in and it’s made for all ages. The dining room is peaceful with lots of seating, upstairs has an awesome arcade area for the kids, and a huge horseshoe bar that is awesome! The staff is so friendly. I just recently moved to the area and it has become my ‘go-to’ spot!
i had the mussels today again for lunch, and they didn’t let me down, they were steamed to perfection!! not too chewy at all! one of my favorite items off the new menu, i pretend i’m somewhere on the gulf when i have them!! the wine sauce makes them along w the toasty points, they had a rosemary flavor to them today, wonderful! along w my bartender, Bobbie, awesome service, awesome girls.
Ended up leaving. Waitress brought us menus and never returned even to ask about drinks. They seemed more worried about the bar vs restaurant.
Have been going to the Sawmill for years and the food just keeps getting better. They always add something new so you can try out different items, while still being able to get your regular favorites. The portions are large! Always enough to take some home for a midnight snack or lunch for work the next day! The staff is remarkable. We go in with 5+ kids and the staff treats them like they were their own.
