RecommendedWonderful experience!l with Steve! — with Henri Richard.
We celebrated our anniversary and Sawa Sushi yesterday and had an absolutely fab time. Steve was gracious, welcoming and very friendly and spoiled us with an array of dishes. We enjoyed a high-end sake and his beer selections and thought each dish was an absolute adventure.
The quality of seafood including sashimi and variety of sake are awesome. But, the owner is too proud of the variety of their sake not to answer my questions on the characteristics of their sake.
This restaurant seems remarkably polarizing, so I won't get into the he-said/she-said scrum. For sake of comparison, suffice to say that my wife and I have eaten at Michelin-starred restaurants throughout the world, and have also enjoyed omakase at several locations throughout the Bay Area. We are not always impressed by the foam and what-is-that-thing cutting edge techniques like molecular gastronomy.
