Following their American dream, Sicilians Teresa and Michael Petrantoni immigrated to New York in the late 1920s and established Savoia Pastry Shoppe, smack in the heart of Rochester's Italian neighborhood. Over the years this pastry heaven has evolved from serving traditional Italian goodies like cannolis and cookies to offering French bread, cheesecake, pies and pizzas. Its delicious pastries make it a favorite of both locals and tourists.

My husband and I got married on April 4,2015. Savoia made out cake and I could not be more impressed at the time. Today is our one year anniversary. Like traditions go, we saved the top portion of our cake from our wedding night and just ate it. It tasted exactly like it did a year ago having been in the freezer untouched for a year, not to mention the week it spent in the fridge while we were on our honeymoon. Awesome shop. Just picked up pastries for party with the family.
I was not received well or warmly at the bakery. The proprietor was dismissive and curt. I felt as though my money was not welcomed at savoi's bakery. I do hope my next visit will be better. If I decide to return.
