RecommendedIn Berkeley for a few days. First time in to Saul's ever, this evening. Just back from NYC, where we whiffed on deli so we made up fro it here. Really enjoyed it. Great sandwiches and service. We'll be back.

One of the absolute best pastrami sandwiches I’ve ever had! Fantastic service and great food!!
We wanted to have a nice lunch with Berkeley’s Fire Chief (who just happens to be our baby boy). He suggested Saul’s, and we were not disappointed. Delicious sandwiches, rich coffee, and a great menu. I wanted to try everything, but settled on corned beef sandwich. The Chief had Pastrami Alvarado, and my sweetie had the Turkey Smerkey, all wonderful and generous portions. The Chief also took a sandwich back for his admin assistant. We won’t mind the drive up from San Jose to try other things, and maybe to see the kid, also.
Great!!! Have the pastrami, you won’t be sorry. Don’t forget the excellent cheesecake for dessert.
The corn beef hash is to die for!
Excellent food in a congenial atmosphere.
