I recently had a horrifying experience with an organization I reached out to for support. I had recently realized that I was the victim of sexual abuse during my childhood and was in desperate need of help to process the terrifying experiences I had endured. Once you get told enough times that you’re too unstable to deal with your trauma and need to deal with your trauma to be stable, waste your time enough appointments feeling like you’re spinning around in circles doing nothing, getting nowhere, and not working on anything, you might no longer have any interest in accessing the services here.
Wonder, caring staff. Made to feel welcome and not alone. Even if you are not the victim they are willing to offer support to those who are close to a survivor. Definitely needs more funding from the city and government as it's a valuable resource.
