I had an appointment with Advanced Psychiatry Associates and was matched with her, a nurse practitioner, who made inappropriate and judgmental assumptions about me before I could even speak about my symptoms. I came in seeking support, and instead was denied care based not on medical need, but on how I sounded and my name. My daughter had a bad experience with this provider. The provider changed an in person appointment to telepsych then was late to that appointment. She did not turn her camera on and did not delve at all into my daughter’s needs. She disregarded her thoughts and prescribed meds within 20 minutes of meeting for an issue potentially unrelated to why the appointment was created. My daughter came away feeling worse than when she started the appointment. The entire appointment lasted approximately 26 minutes.
