Had a car loan - paid perfectly on time for three years. Car got totaled. Insurance paid balance. A small balance of $300 was left and I wasn’t informed. Daniel Jordan called and left the most abrasive voice mail. Called him immediately and he opened conversation with: “Are you gonna pay? Originally, I had posted a negative review regarding an experience I had with them. After they got in contact with me and showed they cared about what I was saying and heard my plea, they resolved the issue and were courteous and professional. It's great to see that they listen and take care of their membership. Thanks SLFCU.
I thought this credit union would be better than banking with a regular bank but they are just as bad! Seriously this is why I dislike banks, after I get this fixed and after the next check I'm closing the account and never banking here again. I just opened with them too.
I like it overall. As my financial needs change I don't think SLFCU has a good product mix for me. That's too bad because I really like it a lot.
I refinanced my car through this credit union and have had absolutely nothing but trouble. I have had insurance on my car for the last 2 years and I have to keep proving that I have it. USAA even sent them my insurance binder proving I've never had a lapse in coverage. Then the credit union charges me $1100 for their insurance. After 5 different times trying to get it taken off with tons of apologies, it's still attached to my loan. I call today and guess what...I have to go prove it again.
