About this business

This small, intimate restaurant, which opened in 1984, features Northern Italian cuisine. It is family-owned and operated by Nancy and Frank Grimaldi. Frank grew up in Italy as the son of two private chefs, and his skill in the kitchen has made San Marco one of the best Italian restaurants in the area. The restaurant is very elegant, especially the very intimate wine room which only has a few tables. Anything you order from the menu of Norther Italian classics is good, and the service is excellent to boot. Desserts include a... read more

Everything was perfect. Came for my girlfriend's birthday and I really wanted her to be wowed and blown away. She got just that. Thanks, San Marco. See you for the next special occasion.

Fantastic!! Good service, delicious food and a great environment!!! I surprised my wife with anniversary dinner here; she loved it and we had a great experience. She had the sea bass and I had ravioli with tiger shrimp and everything was amazing! We will definitely be returning

While the food and setting were great $30 per bottle for a corkage fee is rather excessive. To add insult to injury they added an 18% tip on the $30 fee!!! When asked the waitress was rather pissy about it. $35.40 to open a bottle is one reason I will not return to this otherwise fine dining establishment.

Business response:

Sorry to hear that. However I did a little research for you. The chop house charges $25 per bottle as does Aroma, 800 Maple, the Rue Franklin and Tempo; just to name a few. Selling food and wine is how local restaurants make there living. Just to make sure this doesn't happen to you in the future you should ask your server prior to opening two bottles of your own wine; or call ahead.
