Our family stayed during the week to take visit the Mission and the local shops. Our room was very clean and cozy and the motel grounds were nicely groomed. We also had beautiful views of the surrounding hills and it was beautiful for the winter time. Our room had a microwave and refridgerator so it was convenient for us and our children. The San Juan Inn also has a tower room/meeting room that theyre renovating, so it will be interesting to see how it turns out. Overall, pleasant stay and affordable. Also, probably even bet... read more

If you can do so, please avoid the San Juan Inn. The security at this place has the potential to be a real problem. No deadbolts on the doors chains on the insides. Very poor lighting in the courtyard. The doors still use keys - not more modern key-cards. During our stay, in the middle of the night, someone tried the door handle to our room (it was locked). Also, one of the buildings appears to have partially burned down and is just covered with a very large tarp. When it comes to amenities - there is no heat (thus a ~55 deg... read more

I heard that there was one other hotel in this very small, quaint town but after visiting it, it doesnt compare to the overall ambience that the San Juan Inn provides. If youre looking for a five-star accomodation with butlers and expensive decor, then you need to go to another town like San Francisco. I saw some of the complaints about this hotel and it seems that the comments are related to another hotel. Perhaps those reviewers were intoxicated, high on drugs and/or just plain rude. People in small towns are friendly but ... read more

I stayed here this past weekend and was very surprised by the cigarette smell in the room, the dirty carpet and the dirty toilette (which I had to clean myself). While all of the rooms are now non-smoking, my jammies reeked of old stale smoke when I took them out of the suitcase at home. This place could be great with a minimal makeover. The old dirty carpet needs to be torn out and replaced, the drapes need to be replaced and it needs a fresh coat of paint. The stale smoke smell would be gone if these things were done. The g... read more

I have stayed here at least 4 or 5 times before, and can say that it has gone to the birds. The landscaping is a bunch of weeds, the paint is in disrepair, the sink was almost completely clogged (30 minutes to drain), the shower drain was slow, the pillow cases and towels had stains (at least I hope they were stains, and not just that they hadnt been washed). I was only "allowed" one extra pillow (asked for 2 since I am preggo, and our son wanted one). We were shorted towels after the first night. They took the dirty ones of... read more

The San Juan Inn was just ok. It needs serious updating but did seem to be fairly clean. There was no fluff or frills. One big problem was the lighting. EVERY bulb was replaced with the energy saving type that dont give off much light. It was very hard to see anything in your room at night or even with the drapes closed in the morning. The Inn is close to the San Juan downtown area, just across the road.

I travel a lot. This place is an absolute dump. The first review was written by the hotel, by the way. They are incredibly rude on the phone. They went back and forth about the price. Instead of the \$79 it turned out to be \$159. Dont stay at this motel!

I had reserved rooms here for out-of-town guests for my spring wedding after reading some positive reviews. I have no idea why people have such great things to say about this motel. Its dingy, dirty and dark. I am so glad we came down and checked out the rooms instead of relying on internet reviews. Very dark carpet and wallpaper. The bathroom was dingy. I definitely wouldnt feel comfortable walking around barefoot. The landscaping is nothing but weeds and the pool was far from inviting (I came to check out the hotel in mid-... read more

The hotels atmosphere is very soothing. The pool is a bit cold in the early morning, but is great fun for anyone who wants to play, and the spa is perfect for relaxing. The hotel is just a short walk from very nice dining establishments, as well as adorable botiques that can fill anyones shopping pleasure.
