Ok Zoo The San diego zoo is kind of ok and overhyped. There are some nice animals on display like the panda bear which are not displayed elsewhere but overall they have fewer animal exhibits and we found more humans than animals in this area. The restaurents in the zoo are quite expensive too.
a great way to spend a day The SD Zoo is amazing. Their exhibits are so neat to walk through, you forget where you are. With all the hills it can be a good work-out though if you decide to skip the bus tours and only walk.
Disappointed I kept hearing and reading what a terrific zoo SDZ is, and I was disappointed. I love zoos, so we had to stop in while visiting LA. If your goal is to see a FEW animals, you'll be satisfied and love it. But I like to see all the animals and they make it impossible. There's no direction to the zoo. Paths wind in all types of directions and on multiple levels, so you have to backtrack all day long. I can't tell you how many people we saw trying to figure out where they were on the useless maps they hand out. Not w... read more
san diego zoo the san diego zoo is a great place to take your kids for a day or two. they have some wonderful exhibits with lots of different animals from around the world, all in one place. they do a great job keeping the park clean, but the only thing i can't stand is the smell, which is probably what you think it is.
sleepy when i went here i was so excited to see the animals but more than half of them were sleeping or hiding away which was so disappointing. it was still really fun though and the expensive food was always good
Zoo This zoo is definatly anything but boring. It has great animals that are fun to see and greta for a family outing. I had alot of fun the day i went and it wasn't to exspensive either.
Expesnive and worth every cent Go ahead and take the kids to the zoo, better yet take a date. The zoo has something for everyone and if you bring your own food its not too expensive. Make sure you plan all day if you've never been there, you'll want to see some shows and have time to check out all the great exhibits. On occassion the food can be adequate, but face it thats not why you go to the zoo, so park and go!
World Class I grew up in Washington, DC where my dad was curator at the National Zoo my whole life. So, I know zoos!! The San Diego Zoo is outstanding. It is worth every dime purchasing a zoo membership. In the summertime, we go to the nighttime zoo and enjoy the spectacular extras like the painters and the living statuary. Albert's Restaurant is great for a nice glass of wine and light meal, making it worth the visit all the more!
San Diego Zoo - the biggest and brightest!! If you want to visit a zoo that is the end all, be all, to zoos, you can't miss the San Diego Zoo!!! It is so big, we couldn't see it in the one day that we had there!! It was just fabulous. There is such a wide variety of animals, and the habitat that these animals are kept in are just awesome. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly, and you couldn't ask for a nicer place to have a zoo of this caliber. I highly recommend the San Diego Zoo!!!
