I’m so grateful for the care we’ve received at the Rady’s Children’s ER. With our 4 day old son, and 7 week old daughter, we got such excellent care. This wasn’t our first ER visit, but it was one of the most disappointing. My son had a 103°F fever and recurring fevers, and while I understand the ER is busy, it took over an hour for him to receive Motrin. The doctor felt passive and unengaged, I didn’t feel heard as a concerned mom. He was discharged after five hours with a flu diagnosis, but his fever spiked again that night. We ended up in an ER in Tijuana the next day, where they immediately treated his severe dehydration and persistent fever with IV meds. A week later... read more
