I wished all doctors were like Dr Akhavan. He is awesome
Went for examination of lower leg sports injury. Dr Akhavan was great - professional, knowledgeable, positive, friendly, and very thorough in his examination and diagnosis. It was a first rate experience - including everyone on staff. Highly recommend!!
I had the worst experience with him. He is very arrogant and doesn’t listen. It’s his way and that’s it. Insisted I needed a knee replacement and would not consider any other option. Went to UPMC and had a meniscus repair and have been moving ever since. If I could give a zero I would!!!
Physical exam revealed to Dr.Ahkavan as a hamstring tendonitis. No testing (x-ray, MRI, etc.) done and physical therapy ordered. Second opinion was obtained, a torn meniscus was suspected. MRI ordered and shown to have "extensive, complex, essentially full thickness tearing at the posterior root of medial meniscus", "extensive marrow edema of the medial tibial plateau" and "severe medial tibiofemoral compartment predominant osteoarthritis". He is a great Dr. But the reception staff is terrible at the federal street office. I had to walk out of that office Today will be going back to wexford.
