Delicious for dessert time
You'd think a well regarded, independent ice cream place would avoid potentially toxic ingredients but Salt and Straw uses carrageenan (which other companies have stopped using) and guar gum in at least some of their ice creams.
I miss when salt and straw was a smaller operation. Now that they have expanded into corporate greed, I feel like the quality and integrity disappeared. I went by after a while for something very specific that I used to really enjoy and it just felt empty. Then I also realized that they strategically opened up this shop two doors down from a small family owned gelato shop which has exceptional ice cream. Honestly shame on them.
