The first time I tried capoeira was in November 2015, and I absolutely fell in love with it! Mestre Jamaika is an incredible teacher and inspiration, and the entire Volta Miúda family is full of talent and provides the most amazing energy. The advanced students are extremely helpful in their guidance, and eveyone has their own flair to learn from. It's a really good workout, but you barely notice because it's so much fun. I have been training with Mestre Jamaika for many years now and I would like to thank him and the entire group. He is a wonderful Mestre and a Beautiful and humble person. Everything I know is because of him and I highly recommend anyone and everyone who has any interest in capoeira to come and see the beautiful community we have here in salt lake, I can honestly say that Mestre Jamaika is the greatest teacher that I have ever had, inside or outside of capoeira. Volta Miuda is an incredible place to learn about Brazilian culture through music, movement, fighting, dancing, and language. Mestre Jamaika is an incredible teacher, and all his students are so welcoming, from my very first day people came up and gave me hugs, welcomed me to the family, and cheered me on as I tried the movements.
Volta Miuda is a part of my everyday life. I have learned so much. They are my family, they are my friends. Oh yeah... did I mentioned how much FUN the capoeira is too!
