There is a reason I live in Brooklyn and come all the way to Stamford to get my hair done. Salon Shahin is simply the best. I have been coming here for years and cannot find anything Like it in all of NYC!!! Even though I've been coming here for years, I'm treated like a new customer everything time I come in. So, i was so spontaneous with this hair appt... Wanted to go lighter with my highlights since summer is here and decided to check out the salons in my area DT Stamford, read the reviews on Yelp, and boom! Ended up at Shahin.... I was taken care by Anna and told her my wants... After giving me an 11:30 appointment, I was kept waiting until 2:00. I needed to get my hair done so I hung in there. I spent $190 only to have my hair look the same as it did when I arrived for my appointment - a total mess. The stylist did not have a clue about putting in a perm and acted indifferent when I voiced my dissatisfaction with what she had done. I will not be returning to Salon Shahin for any reason nor would I recommend this rip-off joint to anyone serious about how their hair is done.
Great Salon Experience! – Just got my best haircut in years at Salon Shahin. My stylist, Lindsay, listened to all my concerns and executed my vision perfectly. The whole experience was relaxing and fun and even included a glass of red wine! I will definitely be back...and in the meantime, I'll be enjoying my haircut. Thanks, Salon Shahin!
Fool me once.... – This is the first and only time I have been motivated to post a review online... and I plan to post as many bad reviews I can about this salon as I can. I went to Salon Shahin two years ago, and spent nearly 300 dollars for them to mess up my hair. I had a $70 hair cut where the stylist spend less than 5 minutes cutting my hair (I checked my watch). and they messed up the order of my hair color. Definitely worth the trip!! – I received a gift certificate to the salon, but I live in Manhattan. Was it worth the trip? You bet it was! The haircut w/ Dawn rivaled any I've had at a noted salon here in Manhattan. The manicure/pedicure w/ Margaret was precise, relaxing & the results were beautiful. Will I take the trip again? Most definitely-YES! P.S. I'm looking forward to checking out the other services.
Amazing service – The last review posted here made me quite upset. I am also young (22) and have always been treated wonderfully here. I have been a client of the salon since I was 17 years old. They are always so polite to me and keep me looking up to date with fun cuts and color. The pedicures are amazing (gotta love Elizabeth!!) and I have never felt an ounce of snooty-ness. Won't go back – I have been here twice, and both times have felt out of place. I am young (23!), and felt like I was treated like a little girl with no money. I have spent way too much, on haircuts, spa services, nails, etc to be judged. My haircut was fine, the woman didn't really seem like she wanted to talk to me after her long day, and the girl who (after asking three times . Tops – I have been coming to Salon Shahine for haircuts and color for years. The staff is friendly, sensitive and do their best to accomodate me. I always leave feeling and looking better than when I came in.
