Dr. AYTAC APAYDIN was interested in medicine as a boy. He followed his doctor father on rounds and in high school he worked in a hospital. He went to Williams College and the University of Rochester. Originally he thought he would join his father as a cardiologist family practitioner, but during medical school he found he loved surgery and he switched over to urology. Salinas Valley Urology Associates offers state of the art care, better options means better care.

This guy's a clown. Showed up late to his own office in Hollister, keeping all of his patients waiting on him. Then he starts seeing each patient for 5 mins max. Kept interrupting me to take voice notes, then made a ridiculous prescription without even hearing me out. Plus, starts talking about my case in the hallway with me in front of other patients. No way this guy passed med school without cheating.
Appointments often rescheduled and even then, very long waits for any service, Staff is not particularly friendly, especially when questioned about wait times. Dr. Apaydin even tells me that he is very busy with lots of patients ane one should expect long wait times. Offered to refer me to another Dr., who perhaps would be less busy. Didn't take him up on that! Only reason I was his patient was that SVMH referred him to me. Don't let them do that to you. Zero stars, if I could>>>
What should have been a consultation, the visit was about 10 minutes after having to wait 45 minutes to see him. I was unable to ask questions because he was in a hurry for his next patient. He takes in too many patients at one time, so the quality of care is poor.
Dr. Apaydin is an amazing physician. However, he is always over booked. This is probably due to the fact that he is the only competent urologist in the area and serves three separate hospitals. While I believe he is certainly spread thin, I do know for a fact that he truly cares for his patients. However, I am sure that once he finds another partner to join his practice, the wait times will surely get better and hopefully his staff can remember what good patient care and customer service is. Dr. Aytac is a great doctor, he j... read more
Poor except for the nurses in the pre-post op care...The doctor was never available to discuss the issues that I was having and made sure he would not be! Rxed antibiotics before testing any tissue. The c/o I have do not match the Dx. I will follow-up with this review if things change for the better for my problem...right now the case can remain open due to the efficiency of the nurses, the one who called and the two who cared for me as I stated before. Sad for me to write this as I have worked with so many wonderful docs bu... read more
Not only is the doctor worthless, the staff is more worthless, lacking basic skills and training.
Too much in a hurry. So over-booked that he has zero time to spend with patients. Doesn't explain things whatsoever. I felt like there was no way i could get him to stay long enough to explain things, much less answer my questions! I got more information afterward from the appointment scheduler regarding my condition than him! She was able to go back and ask for a much-needed prescription he had overlooked giving me for my severe discomfort and pain.
Dr. Apaydin did a digital examination but refused to look at my MRI images. Dr. Apaydin insisted on performing a cystoscopy and prostrate biopsy before doing the Greenlight XPS. Two unnecessary and high risk procedures and no need for either one according to two very experienced urologists I met with. Biopsy results in 7% increase in hospitalization within 30 days and overall 17 percent of biopsies resulted in complications, including infections, bleeding and urinary retention.
I'm sure Dr. Apaydin is great as a physician. My experience at his office has been less than pleasant however. His staff is not always patient and/or gentle with patients. They seem to be in a rush and/or in a bad mood most of the time. Additionally, it feels like the Doctor is always triple booked as we wait for a minimum of 1 hour and a half in an extremely crowded room to finally get 5-10min of his time.
