A warehouse for old people At times the staff actually calls residents by their room number instead of their name. That says it all. Dementia residents are mixed with non-dementia patients. It isn't so fun for the non-dementia residents. My friend complains that diabetic friendly food is difficult. Some of the staff is really nice.
Unsatisfied...... I was so excited when I heard that my grandma was moving to Salida Woods. I occasionally drive pass the building and it is absolutely beautiful, especially compared to other assisted living facilities I have seen or visited. However, as cliche as it may sound, looks were definitely deceiving. When I first entered into the building, though the interior was nice, I couldn't believe the amount of wheel chairs, especially ones with table top constraints. good night sleep Finally! For the first time in several years I had a 3 full nights of sleep in a row. My mom has dementia. She couldn't take care of herself the right way. We searched for an assisted living home for mom for close to a year. We finally found a gem in Salida Woods. They just started a remodeling project--but we asked for the old decorations. Why would they waste such beautiful things? The girls that work there are so nice. Everyone introduced themselves and weclomed mom "home"! That made even my husband cry. ... read more
