I rarely write reviews, but my experience with Dr Elkins was so disappointing that I feel obligated to warn others. As both a nurse and a patient, I have a strong understanding of what professional, compassionate medical care should look like—and unfortunately, this provider demonstrated none of it. Salem Orthopedics has been amazing. I have seen Dr. Knight - wrist & elbow surgery, Dr. Dolan - knee and Dr Elkin - reverse shoulder replacement. All of them and there PA's have been amazing. Very understandingand explained everything. to me. From the time I walk in, the receptionists are friendly, the office staff are quick and I have never waited more then tens 15 mins. I also want to thank the security guards for being there, they always are friendly and I am glad they are there.
Some minor communication issues between front desk employees and back of the house. But nothing that couldn’t be resolved. Staff has been more than accommodating, friendly and supportive. Thank you.
I was notified by Salem Orthopedics via phone call on Tuesday 12/5/2025 that I needed to complete a questionnaire prior to scheduling my upcoming surgery. Usually that would be no problem, however, when I tried to open the MyChart page I had no access, instead I was presented with a new program that I had never heard of (MyChart Epic). In my 60+ yrs, I am no stranger to hospitals and doctors in 4 different states. Dr. Dolan and most of the rest of the staff have treated me well and so kindly it is truly remarkable. From start to finish, they did a very nice job. I cannot recommend them any higher.
