I would not live here again – The below reviews are very accurate. The apartments are nice...very small but nice. Love the kitchen but my room is tiny. I have a full bed and thank god it is not bigger because it wouldn't fit. The electric bill could be worse, but ours is at least 100 a month. The garage is where I have the most issues. People don't know how to park or drive. Also, it does flood, just like paladingrl said. And the gates are just annoying, yes safety...safety...but they aren't really safe, I have had people fo... read more

Horrible place and would not suggest spending money here – First off, I do not actually live here, but my sister and several friends do. As a visitor, there is next to no parking for us. However, one time when I parked in the visitor's section of the parking garage, it stormed and the entire bottom level of the garage flooded badly. My car was in there and it got totaled, along with some others. One guy was even a resident there. Of course Aspyre is claiming that it was a "natural disaster" and they're not at fault, but the ... read more

Nicest place to live in Columbia, SC – I read the review by USC66 after searching around the internet for apartment ratings. I currently live at Aspyre and really enjoy it. I used to live in the dorms and Aspyre is the Ritz compared to dorm life. I am so happy that the office staff has changed the parking policy. I have watched so many residents let their guest in the garage and had to drive to the sixth floor to park because a person that doesn't pay rent to live at Aspyre is taking up a parking spot. When I went downstairs... read more

Aspyre. Nice but policies are horrific – Aspyre rooms are great, I like the kitchen, like the amenities but when it comes to the policies, things get pretty bad. - Parking for residents is great -Dont even think about having guests who drive as there is almost never enough parking for them. - Oh and if you let them in the garage, they take your pass indefinitely, so if you park in there you get towed. - And if you misplace your pass, thatll be $300.00 to get a new little sticker for you window - in the middle of the semester... read more

Safe, Beautiful, and Far Better Than the Rest! – So, I had to write something after I read the ridiculous review from "jake08". I have lived at Aspyre since September 2009. I was one of the first residents of Aspyre. My roommate and I absolutely love it here. We have lived in the dorms and at Copper Beech and I must say this is the nicest place in Columbia for students to live. The appliances are your standard Kenmore appliances. No, they are not stainless steel but they work just fine. I am no genius or anything but the the... read more

Flashy, swanky, but cheap. – Lived here for two months. I like it, but I do have a few bones to pick with the way this place works. PROS: The maintenance staff is quick, the amenities are nice, and I managed to get my rent reduced. It's a decent place, very roomy, soft carpet. If you're clever you can take advantage of deals and stuff to get around fees. CONS: The walls are paper thin, the appliances are GARBAGE and use a ton of power (power bill was 155 the first month). The massive glass windows are NOT INSULATED. If you k... read more

Best apartment in Columbia - Hands down! – I have lived at Aspyre for over a year now and I cannot say enough great things about it. The location is the best in town. Very close proximity to both USC and downtown. The front office staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They always go above and beyond to make sure that every question is answered and any maintenance problems are taken care of immediately (within 24 hours). I've referred two friends since moving in, and they love it too.

Fees, Fees, and more Fees – They trick you into thinking you get a deal with no deposit but that's just so they can charge you a 'application fee' that's close to 200 dollars and non refundable. Then they charge you fee on top of fee for anything and everything you'd like to do in the building including using the club room. I would stay away from here, they also charge you for just about everything when you move out. Be wary.
