The store itself was very clean but the checker who was ringing me up appeared to not even be wearing a proper uniform and it made them appear... Disheveled.. Perhaps even a bit dirty? Even more appalling this girl, I beleive the name was Lavinia, seemed to be left in charge. She seemed to have trouble enunciating, maybe a language barrier? The place is clean but everything about Safeway as second-class the place sucks not going to Safeway ever again
I hate this store. The price is high, the staff is unfriendly and useless. They don't know how to count. The product are not that great. I prefer to go to Raley's, Podesto, or even Save Mart. Shopping there is a chore only goes there if I have to. Avoid this store like the plague.
The quality of what Safeway in Newark sells is top notch and so is the service. I just wish the parking lot was bigger since finding a place to park can be a real challenge.

You haven't experienced bad, terrible, awful customer service... until you come here. Thought Home Depot was bad? This store takes the dubious price of being "really, really bad!"! (Not the pharmacy.... the store!
The are courteous and professional. I have been using their pharmacy since the store opened and I appreciate them very much.
Safeway is not my normal grocery store and I only shop there for a couple of things. I do like their floral options/balloons. Jen W. is great!
