I cannot even get into what a huge disappointment my birth experience was. I don't want to share the whole story because I suspect someone will reply and try to alter my facts, and the bottom line is this: the staff failed me. They were supportive and kind, but they failed to identify an issue which caused me birth trauma, disappointment, and more. I trusted them and regret it. I was a first time mom who chose this place because I wanted to do everything right, I trusted my body and I believed in myself, but I needed true gu... read more

We were having a great experience with Sacred Roots until the place went into new ownership last year. After that everything went downhill fast. We signed our paperwork with them stating all the things they would do for the birth and after, and that very same week they told us they were discontinuing a lot of that and refused to grandfather us in even though we had just signed a contract with them. They closed the location we'd been planning to birth at and we had to drive MUCH farther to their only location now. It is farth... read more

My labor was comfortable and prenatal care was great. However, the owner of this place was the midwife on call and was not kind or friendly. I let her know I had a big drive to get to the birthing center and that I felt like I needed to come in and she told me to “stick it out” until my 10;30 appt that morning. She told me if I was in “true labor” I wouldn’t be able to talk between contractions. At this point my contractions were 2-3 min apart. I finally put my foot down and started the drive and arrived at 7, and my child w... read more

I wanted to love this place so bad Started going to the birthing center when I was around 30 something weeks (left the hospital due to mistreatment). The care I got through the prenatal meetings was good depending on which midwife I got. One of the midwives didn’t seem to like me and tried to push me into things I told her no to (antibiotics, she also fought me when I asked for a retest of the GBS test). When my water broke they had sent me home (I lived 20 minutes away) around 4-5 different times, even when I was 5cm and pa... read more

I don't know why I didn't do this sooner, but better super late than never. 8 months ago, I had my son at this amazing birthing center. Grace was my midwife. There were more staff involved, but I embarrassingly don't remember their names. But they were fantastic! My son had an emergent complication after birth and the staff responded perfectly, saving my son's life. The staff was great throughout my entire pregnancy experience. I saw both an OB GYN and sacred roots my first trimester to see which one I liked better. Sacred R... read more
