I am never the one to write reviews but the way I was treated here was awful. I came to visit my boyfriend. The receptionist was very kind. The moment we got there an older black nurse was very rude, disrespectful, and dismissive. I was not told before that we were not allowed to touch the patient. Once we hugged she rudely told to separate. However other visitors were touching the patients and she did not say anything. Let’s be real: the experience of inpatient and outpatient care is very different. During inpatient hospitalization, patients often have to ask for basic necessities such as a toothbrush, toothpaste, clean clothes, lotion, and towels. Privacy is also limited and cannot always be guaranteed, including while showering, using the restroom, or sleeping without noise or interruptions. My son stayed here under a court order from Fresno County because he has a learning disability and couldn’t understand his court hearings. I’m giving my honest review based on what he experienced and what the facility actually accomplished. First, the basics: The food was good — my son said that himself. The nurses were kind — again, straight from him. The facility was clean. They had “learning times,” at least on paper. Those parts get a check mark. Now for the actual purpose of his stay.
