RUDE Waitress! – I've been eating breakfast at this diner for years now. At the beginning, service was always pleasant but as the years went by one waitress in particular as gotten extremely RUDE and snappy! And I don't care for her reputation, so I'm going to reveal which waitress it is. She's the biracial lady, you'll sometimes find her reading a book during work.

Down home cooking in Downtown Culver City – If you're on a mission to find the best corn beef hash in LA, you can stop looking now. Come here for their hash and eggs and waffles. Its worth it. Come through their old screen door (yes just like at mama's house), sit down at a table covered in checked tablecloths, and order some good ol country homecooking. Best pancakes and friendliest service in LA! – I saw an article in LA Magazine listing S&W as winner of Best Breakfast and they were absolutely right. I went on a very busy Saturday and I was quoted a wait time of about 10 minutes and was seated in less than five. The service was super friendly and the pancakes were Amazing so was the coffee - beats Starbucks hands-down. The prices can't be beat, this is my new regular place for weekend breakfast. Terrible service and owner with no customer service knowledge – After politely suggesting to the owner, Michelle that customers would be tended to more efficiently if a host/hostess were hired, she commented that "we've been doing it like this for years." What's she's clearly not aware of is that this restaurant has notoriously bad service, mainly due to the fact that the servers cannot tend to their customers who are seated because they are constantly having to seat people. Best Breakfast in S. Cal – Just like Joe's in RB this palce can be packed and often is. The service is outstanding. The eggs benedict are to die for. People in the past have said their staff is rude. I eat there almost every day and it is consistantly dynamite. Parking can be tough, try the free garage at the end of the block off washington. this place is seriously great and I would be here anyway even though I am blessed to be a mile from this seriously great resturant Mark Braun Culver City

Avoid this place at all costs – This is my first time writing in on citysearch. I had a friend in from out of town and thought it would be nice to actually have brunch in Culver City, which is where I live. However, this experience was embarrassing and will never recommend this place to anyone. I understand that a restauarant is busy, as I have waitered in my college days. First, there is no hostess. Cash Only: Boo, Great Food and Service: Yay – I've forgotten to bring cash here more than once and had to deal with crossing the street to get to an ATM. Nonetheless, their food is awesome, and the staff is always uber friendly.

Fantastic breakfast treat – I LOVE this restaurant, but you do have to have a lot of patience while waiting. Just to show why that is, though, here's a story for you: There's a diner right next door. My friend who grew up in CC says that it used to be open for breakfast, too, but everyone waiting for seating at S&W simply ignored it despite wait-times of over an hour, until the Diner stopped serving breakfast. ;) The wait-staff is friendly, and when they recognize you as a regular, they can be just the sweetest people ever. ... read more

Wait too long – This restaurant has too long of a wait, and the food wasn't overly fantastic to be worth that wait. Also, if you want to sit outside, make sure that you tell them. The waitress sat someone else ahead of us outside, and when I addressed it, she said it's because we didn't tell her we were willing to sit outside (never mind that she didn't ask us!).
