I was paired with this surgeon for bariatric surgery through UCSD. From the moment I met him, I did not feel comfortable with him. It was clear that he lacks empathy for people struggling with obesity and had a disdainful attitude when prescribing a 5 week liquid diet pre-surgery. He insisted that my lack of discipline would cause me to gain back all weight lost unless I could prove myself by not eating solid food for 5 weeks before and another 3-4 weeks after surgery. Dr. Broderick is a skilled and honest surgeon. He took the time to explain everything clearly and never pushed me toward surgery. I highly recommend him.
HIGHLIGHTS - Broderick argues with patients, always unavailable, rude, ZERO patient care. the NURSES at UCSD AMAZING. I recently had my gallbladder removed from Dr.Broderick. He is a great surgeon. As far as a doctor? TERRIBLE. Ill start from the first day I met him. I had my first appointment in Juy I believe. He walked in with overwhelming arrogance. Dr Broderick is an exceptionally skilled and confident surgeon. He came highly recommended to me by another top surgeon and other members of the UCSD surgical team. Dr Broderick clearly explained the pros and cons of my complex surgery. That said he did an outstanding job and the results exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend Dr Broderick.
Dr Broderick was my surgeon for a procedure I had to undergo. He was straight forward, realistic, considerate, and extremely talented. I can't even see where he made his incisions. Even after the surgery was able to answer all my questions or his nurses that cared for me after surgery. The staff was amazing as well sharing the same talents and courtesy.
