The doctor and office staff are cordial, however, their installations and workflow are not equipped to handle a lot of patients. Due to their limited capacity, they also use a 3rd party service for referrals which adds an extra step and time to the process. So if you have an alternative chose another provider. Having said this, they accommodated my last-minute request for an appointment so I am grateful for that.
I saw Dr Barrientos quite a few months ago. I was looking for a new GI doc and he had good rating on Healthgrades. I waited at least 1.5 hours passed my appointment time to see him and when I finally saw him, he was not at all friendly. I left with the feeling that I was wasting his time. I’m not sure who is receiving such great treatment, but it was not me. Also, his office didn’t send in my insurance paperwork so I had to figure out why I received such a large bill and get it corrected.

Dr Barrientos is good doctor, but he treats you like a procedure and not a person. He was never versed on my case from one visit to another. His visit summary contains little to no information nor does it match what he says in the actual office visit. His lack of care and concern is very obvious. However, when you can get him to listen to you, he then becomes a great doctor.
I went to see Dr. Barrientos for some GI issues I was experiencing over a months’ time with having no history of GI issues. He thought I may have diverticulitis and ordered a CT scan. He ruled out diverticulitis with the CT scan result and prescribed a very mild laxative to help me. The first day I took the medication I experienced some pretty terrible side effects so I called the office and left a message. The second time I took it the same thing happened so I called the following business day

We were very pleased with the care Dr. Barrientos provided us. He is highly professional and knowledgeable physician who spends quality of time with his patients and not only delivers the information but also always makes sure patients fully understand the process.
