Wonderful practice. The office staff is great, the portal is a nice feature and communication is always great. This doctor cares about patients and she is very good at what she does. I have several things going on that have been complex but very happy with how thorough they are about trying to get to the root of the problem. She will tell you if she thinks it’s allergy related and if not, she’s great to offer a referral to consider other possible causes.
This practice needs to revisit its appointment booking process. I tried to make an appointment for my child and was not allowed to because they could not verify my insurance (Anthem). I had just used my insurance card the day before so the problem was on their end. Instead of just having us come a few minutes early for the appointment with our physical insurance card to get it worked out (like every other practice in Richmond) I was told I had to call and talk to my insurance company and try to get the problem with their sys... read more
This was my first time with Dr. Von Elten I was referred by my lupus doctor. The staff was very friendly and made things very easy for me. Dr Von Elten was friendly as well, she took here time listening to my concerns. She was very knowledgeable and explained the treatment moving forward. Thank you for everything.
We brought our 2 year old for a second opinion and I'm really glad we did. The staff was friendly and professional. We feel much more at ease managing our son's allergy now. My only regret is we didn't bring him here first!
We've taken our son here for a couple of years to navigate multiple allergies. Dr. von Elten has unparalleled bedside manner and her staff run a terrific office. We came from a different allergist in town and had incredibly high expectations such as "please fill out this paperwork within a month" and "hopefully a real person will answer the phone this time," and so we were a little anxious about what to expect here.
