I was so disappointed to learn that Ruth Chris a high end steak house took 50 million from the Ppe program to help SMALL business during this time..leaving small business to shut thier doors.. do they not see it is the little guy who is thier customers? we are the ones going in and paying some ASSINENE price for a steak. this leaves them open with empty tables! I work for a small business..the way I see it..Ruth Chris needs to pit its money where the mouth is and feed the people they screwed during this crises! SHAME ON THEM... read more
I don't support giant companies that steal small business loans from those who really need it. I will never eat here and will be rallying my friends and families to boycott.
The Ruth’s Chris approach was particularly crafty. They applied via two subsidiaries to circumvent the $10 million maximum allowed by the PPP (Potbelly’s and Taco Cabana only received the $10 million maximum), as well as avoiding the fact that they’re a, well, large company. The PPP’s published limit is 500 employees across an enterprise and their affiliates. According to their website, Ruth’s Chris has over 150 restaurants around the world.
