I was a patient for too long . Between her bringing her dog into therapy and her periods of crying and complaining. I was medicated wrong with contra indicated drugs. This doctor should seriously contemplate retiring

At first she appeared somewhat competent. Her personal problems began to enter the sessions as she became more bitter and began to interject her problems. This just became intolerable and I terminated the therapy and found other medical professionals who agreed with me. I feel bad having to write this and hope she gets help as she appeared so sad
Brilliant and compassionate psychiatric doctor. She helped me find my way again, and I will value her forever for that.
Having been a patient for several years it became apparent that her own personal problems interfered with her diagnostic and therapeutic skills, unfortunately it took sometime to conclude this and became apparent after seeing other professionals.
I was a patient of Dr. Gettes many 25 ago and found her to be a caring, insightful and gifted physician. Her treatment was a significant help to me in my life.
Would you recommend this psychiatrist to others? Absolutely Not How would you compare this provider to others in his/her field that you have visited? Not good Is this psychiatrist easy to reach in an emergency? No. It took me several times to get through. Does this psychiatrist always take that extra step to make you feel special? No, I don't think they appreciate my loyalty Did you spend a lot of time in the waiting room at this psychiatrist's office? The wait wasn't terrible, but it wasn't the best
I placed my life in her hands and I am happier for it. My PTSD is nonexistent and she helps me manage my depression to the point of actually being happy and joyfilled. DON'T WAIT! GET HELP! If you are depressed you won't be able to figure it out on your own. Dr. Gettes will help you gently.
I am mentally and physically a whole person living the happy life I always knew was out there for me to experience only because of the extensive work I have done with Dr. Ruth Gettes. Being an MD, she combined her knowledge of both psychology and biology to successfully diagnose and treat me. I will be forever grateful for her dedication in helping me to overcome what I once thought were insurmountable barriers to happiness.
