wrong order I orderd a cake a week before my event,when i went to pick up my cake (choc.rasp)the guy brought me a white cake?it was the wrong order they had 1 WEEK to get it done.I took the cake home after the man behind the counter tole me it has raspberries inside????whatever it was chocolate no sign of any fruit.I called pissed and a woman told me she is the mgr.OK we talked she was supposed to call me back never did.I will never buy anything from there and tell my friends to do the same.Customer service SUCKS....
Need a special cake DON'T go to Russell's So my wife's grandmothers 80th birthday is this Saturday, and we wanted to celebrate by presenting her with a beautiful lady-bug themed cake. this place is the best! I can't say enough good things about Russell's! They focus on desserts, so you won't find lots of different breads in their shop. But, there are enough sweets to keep you busy for a lifetime! My favorites are their Coconut Cream Pie and German Chocolate Cake. Their breakfast menu is also amazing - they have some of the best scones in Austin. I don't drink coffee, but have heard that their coffee is very good as well. PROS: amazing food!!! CONS:
Very Dry Birthday Cake! I am normally just bragging all the time about the lucious desserts, sandwiches, and tortilla soup here. I have never ever been dissappointed before. I picked up a very amanteur decorated baseball cake for my son's Birthday yesterday. It looked yummy on the outside, but was very dry vanilla cake with lots lemon trying to cover up the dryness. $50.00 small round cake I could of done way better by going to Randall's on Balcones Drive!
Terrible Customer Service experience-wrong cake I searched everywhere in Austin for a bakery that specialized in German chocolate cakes and decided to try out Russells. I ordered my cake for my boyfriend's 40th birthday party 1 week in advance and when I went to go pick it up 4 hours before the party they had the wrong order. Bad experience? There's a good reason. Unfortunately, the owner treats his employees with absolutely no respect. There is a very high turnover rate because he is impossible to work for. I lasted for a whopping two weeks and quit after he managed to make 4 girls (including myself) cry in a single day. The training is very disorganized, and when an employee can't meet his expectations he explains everything that the employee is doing wrong, but fails to explain how to do things correctly and meet his expectations. Cinnamon rolls are great. They are also huge so bring your appetite.
The cafe au lait was divine. BestI have had outside New Orleans Napoleon Cafe. Carrots, raisins, and bran in a muffin together are a perfect combination. Excellent bacon and egg taco! 10/10 will come again.
