Good concept, wasted space – In this touchy economy, I am surprised anyone would open such a large and Vegas looking space, to have ruined the beautiful space of Nicole Fahri is a crime. The space is huge, and not intimate. Would fit right in to a Casino setting. Bad props, weve seen green apples in too many decorator magazines. I am a native New Yorker, I like "real", unpretentious, if you want over the top, go to Daniel. The food was interesting, the trout was overpowered by too much curry, the brussel sprout salad was the... read more

AMAZING! – Where to begin? My girlfriend and I came in from the cold and rain for a post shopping mid-afternoon snack and wound up spending three and a half hours at the bar. Started off with a butternut squash soup (not on the menu yet) as well as a broccoli soup, both were incredible, and while they tasted like they included a healthy portion of creme fresh, both were apparently incredibly healthy as well (not sure if I entirely believe the claim that a full meal there (one app, entre and desert) rings in below or at 1,000... read more

Perfect dining experience – I went to Rouge Tomate last night and had one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time. The decor is modern, but warm, and you can easily see that there was a tremendous amount of attention put into every detail within this beautiful space. All of the staff was extremely friendly and attentive, definitely different from the experiences I've had with staff in some of the other high-end restaurants in that area. The special cocktails were unlike any I have had before, but they were gre... read more

A True Delight – I can safely say that this was easily the best meal I've ever eaten. Not just because of the brilliant taste - the way they perfectly poached my egg on my Market Potato and Farm Egg appetizer, the small glass of fresh apple juice used to cleanse my palette after my Lettuce and Root Vegetable Cassoulet and before my Banana Chocolate dessert - but the simple thought put into everything in this restaurant, from the interior design to the compost/ recycling system in the kitchen, makes you aware that you're not ... read more

Relaxing at Rouge Tomate – After walking by a few times we left our way Upper West neighborhood to try Rouge Tomate and were rewarded with a super chill dining environment (even on a Friday night), gorgeous cleanly designed surroundings, extremely attentive service, delicious wines by the glass (even passed the test with my partner who is French and quite a wine guy) and creative organic food. We ate in the less pricey upstairs "cafe" & dined on a comfortable settee on wild bass a la plancha over a rich seafood stew, creativ... read more

The complete experience – Dined there for lunch this past saturday with a friend. What a great experience. From the moment we were warmly greeted by the hostess, to the final goodbye from our friendly and knowledgeable server, it was a complete experience. the decor is beautiful. We sat upstairs in the Cafe area. The menu is ala carte and reasonably affordable. Very modern, but so warm, makes you feel comfortable and at home. We met Chris, one of the managers, and he was the perfect host. The food came to our table timely and... read more

Excellent – Had dinner in the dining room a few days after the restaurant opened. Wonderful experience - helpful and knowledgeable wait staff, interesting and varied menu, great wine list, beautiful space. At our waiter's advice, I ordered the yellowtail appetizer and the gnocchi entree. Both were absolutely delicious and perfectly prepared. Had a lovely glass of cotes du rhone and a delightful banana chocolate napoleon for dessert. The tab is pricey - $72 per person pre fixe - but very worth it considering the freshness of ... read more

This Upper East Side spa-restaurant focuses on healthful fare that adheres to a specific international nutrition plan. – In Short Coming to New York on a wave of optimism and ideology, this high-concept modern American restaurant follows the principles of S.P.E. (sourcing, preparing, enhancing) and an international nutrition manifesto--there's even an in-house nutritionist who works with chef Jeremy Bearman, a Robuchon and DB Bistro alumni. The food, meanwhile, looks a lot like the refined, seasonal work done in other restau... read more
