We decided to try Ross pistons directly. Expect at least a 3 month wait for a set of 8 SBF pistons. Diamond, CP Carillo and BME build 100% custom pistons in a more timely manner (2-6 weeks) and the pricing is the same. Ross are a fine piston made from the same 2618 alloy everyone uses. Too bad the wait time is not realistic.
I run a bbc blown alc 498, i used their off the shelf pistons that were really made for a nitrous application and not for blown alcohol, especially 22 lbs of boost turning it 7900 , but due to covid in 2020 when i built the engine, and time constraints, i didnt have time for custom pistons. I beat the hell out of these for two seasons and 100 passes , the engine still lives not one issue with the pistons.Thanks for making great products! I look forward to using them in my next engine.
ROSS Pistons is one of the best manufacturers in the industry.
I had a failure in my custom built 2.2 due to a spiral lock in one piston coming out and ruining the block. So I called and they said it wasn't there fault and there parts never fail. So they practically said they have never made a mistake. So they weren't gonna help with the cost at all and they won't make me just one to replace it. Ross wants me to buy 4 brand new ones even tho I only need one. Terrible customer service.
