After talking to Chris at Ross Racing he said he would charge me $400 to make two Pistons and ring sets for an old 450 Honda, I was just doing the bore job for the customer, another shop has the motorcycle I was told 30 these would be done, I continued to call in after 30 days asking where my Pistons, the secretary tells me let me go talk to production and I'll call you right back she never calls back I would have call her back, this went on for 3 months I talked to Chris about 3 to 4 in three months time, And even got in an... read more
We decided to try Ross pistons directly. Expect at least a 3 month wait for a set of 8 SBF pistons. Diamond, CP Carillo and BME build 100% custom pistons in a more timely manner (2-6 weeks) and the pricing is the same. Ross are a fine piston made from the same 2618 alloy everyone uses. Too bad the wait time is not realistic.
