I have been very happy with my care with dr Schlotfeldt. He has been very thorough whenever I bring up issues and does not hesitate to order referrals for specialized care when necessary. I have had doctors in the past where I felt I had to push them to get things like a scan, mri or referral. Dr Schlotfeldt seems very invested in my health and proactive in helping me through issues.
If i could give my experience with him zero stars I would. I called my husband crying leaving his office. I’ve never felt more unheard or more lost leaving a doctors appointment. I have chronic autoimmune issues and my eczema has created life changing issues. It affects my in my daily life so negatively. I was trying to explain the history, what I’ve tried, what i haven’t, and trying to get him to actually look at my skin and he literally put his hand up saying “let me stop you right there” MID SENTENCE. Dr. Schlotfeldt has been my primary care physician for the past three years while I’ve been living in San Diego as a military spouse, and he has been nothing short of excellent. He always listens carefully, explains things clearly, and makes sure I get the care or referrals I need. It’s been a few years since my visit with this doctor. However, I thought it would be beneficial to share my pernicious experience because others clearly are continuing to have the same experiences and most importantly it had almost caused me to forego my health insurance, abandon my efforts to improve my health and had caused an overall loss of faith in the health care system. My experience with this doctor has been less than stellar, unfortunately. I scheduled an appointment and not only did I feel unheard, it was the most rushed doctors appointment I have ever experienced without one issue resolved or even discussed to detail. He had the front call to schedule in the tests, knowing im immobile as well. Yikes.
