After achilles tendon surgery he released me at 6 weeks leaving me with no where to go
After living with foot pain for years, and trying various things like OTC pain meds, PT, etc, my adult daughter was finally able to get a referral to see Dr. Guiao. From the first visit, he was warm, knowledgeable, and patient. He answered all of our questions and assured my daughter that he could indeed help her. Today, we see him for a 3- month post-op appt, and will happily tell him that she is PAIN FREE...and that's a miracle. Thank you, Dr. Guiao.
Good surgeon, poor bedside manner
Dr. Guiao reconstructed my Achilles tendon after it's protracted deterioration over the Spring. He carefully explained the options available to me. As I had similar surgery 13 years ago on the other leg, I had a good idea of what was in store for me the rest of the summer. After 9 weeks I am back in shoes and normal activities, but within limits. I feel Dr. Guiao considered my individual circumstances and never over promised but I definitely feel he over-delivered. My 10 inch scar is barely visible and my leg is getting stro... read more
Dr. Guiao was very rude and condescending and I'm amazed that he's in a profession where he actually has to meet with people at all. I cannot recommend him at all and I plan to avoid seeing him in the future.
I had arthroscopic ankle surgery with Dr. Guiao. My condition didn't improve and wasn't fixed by the surgery but that's wasn't Dr. Guiao's fault. My ankle feels exactly the same as my pre-surgery ankle which is good. I figured out how to fix my ankle a year later after surgery. I don't think Dr. Guiao could have figured out my issue; I had to spend lots of time trying different things. I would definitely recommend him.
I had Achilles surgery with Dr. Guiao. It was a difficult surgery and because of my MS it has been a long, painful recovery. He is an incredible surgeon. He is smart and very attentive. He doesn't "dumb it down" and makes sure you're involved with everything. His staff is incredible and his Physicians assistant Jill Guenther is fantastic as well. I'm on the mend and I have an entire staff helping. I will continue to send people to him. They have done amazing things for me.
A+ rating -- One of the best doctors I have ever had. He did 2 surgeries on my right ankle and knows what he is doing.
Dr. Guiao reconstructed my tibia tendon on one foot, and my Achilles tendon (plus FHL tendon transfer) on the other. The man is a rockstar in my book. He gave me back the pain-free use of my feet. Sometimes it might take a bit to get in with him, but that's because he's THAT good. Before going ahead with the Achilles surgery I received several opinions from experts in three countries, Mayo Clinic, and other US major metro areas. They all agreed with Guiao's approach.
Ronald P. Guiao, MD has a 4.4 star rating with 22 reviews.
