I went to Ron Tonkin Honda (at 300 SE 122nd) last year to get body repair for my 2017 Honda Fit. While I did realize there was a shortage of used cars I did not realize what a "magic trick" it would be to get the parts needed to repair my car. I made several calls to get information - The folks at *** Tonkin were incredible. They went above and beyond. Ron Tonkin Honda in Portland: shockingly poor customer service, bordering on arrogant. I bought my Honda CRV Hybrid from Tonkin in August 2021. 18 months and ****** miles later (4-14-23) the main hybrid battery failed on a remote road in southern ****. Still under warranty, I had the car towed ********************************** **************** ** who provided a full-sized SUV loaner so I could return to Portland. Total bait and switch. "******," their internet person, discussed the Rav4s they had at the dealership (despite it being a Honda dealer). Made an appt for 11:00am on a holiday weekend. None of the Rav4s are at their lot and I had no appt and no salesperson. Just the worst kind of consumer treatment. Here you will see they are advertising nine Rav4s. "******" now claiming I only talked to her about a CRV that she suggested. NO ETHICS here.
Had a terrible experience with salesperson- Brian Told me on the phone because I was a Costco Customer- which I have been for several years - We would get a special price for Honda CRV - he gave me verbal price over the phone - which was very attractive- made appointment to come in and do business next day / meeting Brian at the door , he had me off the another salesperson:Robert Now the game starts- bate and switch on price - no were near Brian’s pricing he gave me over the phone . had such a bad experience I had to come here to try and help others avoid it. The dealer that tried to help me was very pushy and didn't even know his Honda's. I believe his name was 'Sammy'....said he was new and was still learning...but his pushy attitude really just pushed me out of there wanting to leave. Why is it so hard to find a dealer with good people skills?
