VERY expensive, just not worth it – I have gone there twice, and I will never go back. My first experience was alright, until I saw the price of each beer. $4.50 each. What a RIP OFF. There is NO happy hour on the weekends. I recall the guy sitting next to me saying "but it is $5 of the best beer and pure happiness!"... dude, you can try to justify their rip off prices any way you want to, but they are EXPENSIVE. My last trip there, I had 2 beers and a small plate of fries. I was expecting steak fries. Nope, they are no bett... read more

Love the beer, hate the service. – I'm a huge fan of Rogue. I love their Newport location, I've had nothing but good experiences there. The Portland on Flanders location on the other hand has given me by far the worst Service and poorly prepared I can ever remember having. On several occasions I have given them the oportunity to redeem themselves. FAIL=6

Newport brewery's Portland post is an unpretentious option for microbrew maniacs. – In Short Casual and kid-friendly, this un-Pearl brewpub snubs its hip surroundings. The bar is cozier and closer to the beer taps, where the action revolves around hops and barley. Good beer rules here. Options range from the lighter Yellow Snow Ale to the unabashed Mogul Ale or the chipotle-spiced Mexicali Rogue. The kitchen serves dishes such as the curry-laced Bombay burrito or a salmon melt delivered open-faced with the fish sandwiched be... read more

What kobe? – Why offer a $12 kobe burger when what you're actually serving is 1/4 inch thick grey burger patty? I asked for rare and I got well-done. You're murdering that cow twice!

No Substitute.... – ...and I dont mean you cant live with out dinning here, what I mean is that is what they will tell you if you try to order anything that varies from what is listed the menu. They couldnt even upgrade regular fries to Cajun. After stating that I was just going to drink beer and not eat the quality of service for the rest of my party suffered. I have had a couple good experiences here a long time ago and was hoping to get the same service; this must be a new policy that will more then likely not be changing... read more

Good place to chill – The Rogue has some very tasty brews! Recommend the Chocolate Porter but be warned that this beer is a meal in itself! yum! Great place to go for your birthday, FREE yard of beer of choice and a cool t-shirt to boot! Been there twice now and service was crap the first time around but very good the second time. This place is not a "bar" scene (yay!) but more the type of place to chill with some buddies and enjoy conversation. Haven't tried the food so no comment there. Overall, good place to relax and sip... read more

One of the Best Pubs in PDX – The Rogue Ale House is a fun & funky place in the heart of the Pearl. Easy to get to (via Streetcar) and a place for the kids, if you have them in tow. Very fine food with some super friendly service. The folks here always seem willing to dole out a simple of this, a taste of that to "see if you like it". The biggest plus is the beer, though! Rogue beers are some of the best micros anywhere. When beer drinking friends come into town, this is the first place I take them. Both Bitters are excellen... read more
