Our troop treks to Rodney every year. We've been doing it for at least a decade – great camp! Being on the bay allows them to offer excellent boating, sailing, etc. In addition, they have a great pool for teaching swimming and related topics. People who complain about the food don't get that this is summer camp – it's not supposed to be gourmet. What it is is plentiful and tasty – sticks to your ribs and keeps you going having fun. We are at Rodney Scout Reservation this week (Week 5). We've had many problems, including incomplete food service (e.g., inadequate portions, cold food that should be hot and missing items), a shortage of needed tents and incomplete information about required prerequisites for merit badges. The boys have complained that the Trading Post is running out of supplies and refreshments. Great program for boys and leaders. Campsites are great. Prepare to walk a lot with the size of the camp. Meals are also very good.
