I loved going here for classes but I was recently stopped from going into the Women’s locker room by a lifeguard who started whistling at me from across the pool, based on the fact that I had a double mastectomy and was wearing trucks he decided I should not be allowed in the locker room despite my things being in there. He also clearly was staring at me and my wife for most of the time we were in the pool, expected better from Rocky River.

River Rec Center is a smaller facility compared to Westlake but very good overall. There are (very clean) indoor and outdoor pools, basketball courts, indoor jogging track, an adjacent ice skating rink, kid and adult activities. I found the Rec Center clean, friendly staff, lots of available activities, and a newly expanded upstairs fitness area. The ice skating rink is excellent and a great bonus during winter months. Worst hours ever. Wanna work out after 4pm on the weekend? Sorry…CLOSED! Everything else is great, if you can find time to get here 😥
This winter season the staffers seem to be more friendly and positive, rec center has been kept clean, new/ added fitness equipment is a welcome treat. I'm pleased overall with the center and staffers.
