RecommendedThe best BBQ in DC. Great sides and exceptional smoke.
I drove a long way to check this place out and I was not totally impressed with the chicken or barbecued brisket. Also the sides weren’t that super but it had a great crowd.
Food wasn’t worth the money. Taste like they haven’t cleaned there smoker in awhile.
This place has delicious collard greens! They are tasty and flavorful. Did not need to doctor them at all. Loved the chopped pork too. Wish I lived here to enjoy it on a regular basis.

This review is not about the food but about the way Rocklands treated its long-term employee who was loved by customers. Due to 1 bad review, Rocklands fired RJ, its bartender of many years. Having been a patron for more than 3 years, I can vow for RJ’s level of respect and professionalism toward his customers. He made all of us feel like Rocklands is a family business, not stone cold chain restaurant. Firing him due to 1 bad review is unreasonable and heartless. You’ve lost me as a customer.
