The Roberto-Venn School of Luthiery has been in continuous operation for over thirty years. Students have traveled from every continent except Antarctica, to attend. Since its founding in 1975, over 1200 students have graduated. The Roberto-Venn School of Luthiery is situated on a three acre lot in the old world atmosphere of South Phoenix. I have had the pleasure of working with many RV graduates at Az Music Pro over the years. AMP in Flagstaff, AZ is always looking for qualified & passionate luthiers and electronics repairmen.
I loved my time at RV and visit almost every year since. It will forever be one of the fondest chapters on my life! I started a successful business right out of school, making, selling, repairing, and restoring stringed instruments!
I attended the Spring 2006 semester at Roberto Venn at the 16th Street location, and it was a phenomenal experience. I built a fantastic foundation of knowledge, gained some humility, met some incredible people, and started a career path that, to this day, is also a lifelong passion. This is a terrific program. The curriculum is comprehensive and I don't think I would have ever put all that information together if I'd had tried to do it on my own. I'd go again if I wasn't so busy building guitars for a living!
