The Roberto-Venn School of Luthiery has been in continuous operation for over thirty years. Students have traveled from every continent except Antarctica, to attend. Since its founding in 1975, over 1200 students have graduated. The Roberto-Venn School of Luthiery is situated on a three acre lot in the old world atmosphere of South Phoenix. A collection of buildings and sheds is the unassuming facade for the birth of finely crafted guitar art. The idea for a guitar making school grew out of an apprenticeship program that Joh... read more

school is attended by many. prominent musicians
started in fall of 99. A great experience and good set of skills to build off of- Thanks RV
Most of our employees over the years have been RV graduates. Good training!
Sixteen years ago I chose to attend Roberto Venn with the plan of starting a new career as soon as I completed the course. I had a good job locked down before I finished and now I run one of the most respected and busiest repair shops in the Northeast.
Summer of 2014 for me. It was a great time with some awesome people.
I attended in the fall of 2012 and it was an absolutely great experiance on so many levels. I learned more than I could have imagined. I met really great people that will be lifelong friends and colleagues. The educational experiance was the best I have ever had, and I'd had a lot of them before attending RV. Everyone that works at the school makes it what it is...and it's awesome! If you want to get into the industry, this IS the place to start.

I have visited to discuss design and building techniques, bought materia... read more
I visited the school almost a year ago, looking someone to setup my 7-strings guitar. Steven Davis took care of that, and also I could enjoy some time with John Reuter, chatting a little bit and seeing his nice guitars. If I had some time, for sure I would take some luthiery classes with them.
greatest experience of my life, and memories i'll never beat. roberto-venn was truly one of the fondest times i've ever had and i think about it daily.
