I have been seeing Dr. Mckelvey for 10 years. After being diagnosed with conversion disorder and anxiety, depression, PTSD, and more, he has helped me navigate it all. He has effectively helped me manage my non-epileptic psychiatric induced seizures from 7-12 a day to 3-4 a year. Highly recommend.
He has helped my whole family for years.
I have known doctor Mckelvey since I was a 11. I am now 27. I trust him wholeheartedly with all of my psychiatric needs. He is well respected within the OHSU community and still has ties there for your needs and his professional life. I believe that he is one of the most knowledgeable child psychiatrists in the metro area. Highly recommend.
- practiced with respect my son and myself without relevant Registration as required in Australia. Most of criteria below are not relevant to my contact with Mckelvey. He comes across as mild mannered ~ he is someone to be treated with great caution and to be avoided at all cost.
I went through 4 or 5 different psychiatrists before I got to Dr. McKelvey. He's a very open listener and tries his best to understand. When helping me with my difficulties coping in school and at home, he remained non-judgemental and offered many very helpful insights into how I could change my behaviors to reduce tensions. Without a doubt, he has been the best psychiatrist I have visited.
Dr. McKelvey was a provider for my significant other and after several months not only did he not know anything about him at all except possibly one prescription of which he doubled at a random point. This including that the prescription was for help with nerve damage not any actual prescription for mental health. I do not believe this man should have a degree, let alone be treating patients.
