I went to see Dr Payne for two years in the early 80’s when his office was in the building across from Roper Hospital. Best ever Margie Doiron
He was my psychiatrist for many years. He was also my father’s psychiatrist and did great care for us both. He listens. He explains why we might be having the trauma and issues we have. People who are displeased by him don’t understand how psychiatric treatment works.
I was a patient of Dr. Payne for years. I was a total mess and needed help. I saw several psychiatrists in Augusta, Ga. Two very good the others not. We moved to Charleston and I really needed him. I had previously been evaluated by another psychiatrist as required. I really liked him but I was so depressed and just felt hopeless.
