Dr McLain treated me as he would care for his own family. He is a trustworthy professional. During the time I was in his care he & his staff responded to all of my questions and concerns promptly and with respect. Though they undoubtedly answer similar questions frequently, I knew they heard what I thought my problem was and answered so I could understand.

I arrived at Dr. Mclain's after 4 months of local treatments for a "pulled muscle", "muscle spasms", "arthritis" to find out that I had a L5/S1 herniation that was beyond chiropractic care, injections or physical therapy. I can honestly say that this was the most confident I have ever approached a surgery. St Vincent Hospital is a finely tuned, efficient facilty. Dr. Mclain and his staff are top notch. Dr Mclain is my newest hero !

I have Already recommended Dr. McLain to many of my Friends. I liked that Dr. McLain didn't jump into surgery after being referred to him, He gave me my options and let me make the final decision. He explained everything that I could understand and took his time. Frank his Nurse is also Excellent. Very patient and knowledgeable.

I looked at the options of treatment by the Laser Spine Institute for a laminectomy as well as the more traditional fusing of the vertebrae by neurosurgeon. Dr. McLain's demeanor and explanation of surgery gave me confidence to proceed with my disc replacement. Doctor McLain took time to answer all my questions regardless of how silly. I was able to meet and discuss the surgery in appointments leading up to surgery and just before surgery. Dr. McLain also followed up with me after the surgery

10 years ago my 19 year old daughter had her L-5 which was broken in two places surgically corrected by Dr. McLain. Six weeks after surgery she was pain free. She is now a practicing veterinarian ....something other doctors said would never happen due to her back. She remains pain free due to an angel name Dr. McLain. I am forever grateful for this incredible surgeon.

I was advised by a local physician to have back surgery, a spinal fusion. Fortunately a friend recommended that I see Dr. McLain. It did require several hours of travel time but am so thankful to have gone to Dr. McLain for my surgery. He always took time to answer questions, explain all procedures and most of all is a very talented surgeon. He is just a very special physician. I had my back surgery one and one-half years ago, am free of pain and enjoy life without back pain.

Dr. McLain treated me for left foot drop with back surgery. He is a fantastic Surgeon and I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs back surgery. His experience speaks for itself, and six weeks later I am making fantastic progress. I can actually support my weight on my left heel which I could not do before. Dr. McLain was recommended to me by Dr. David Radford who helped me naturally fix a disk problem in my back a number of years ago without surgery. Great Team!!
