After suffering miserably for over a yr. and going thru physical therepy and 2 rounds of shots for my lower back pain for a herniated disc and spinal stenosis I turned to Dr. Mclain for his expertise,he was pretty confident that he could improve my quality of life. Dr Robert McLain and staff treated me with the upmost professional care and concerns. Everytime I visited his office, they treated me with respect and always concerned about progress and daily activities. My strength has returned better than new. The whole staff has helped me return to normal living activities in such a short time after my successful lumbar fusion. Words can't describe how thankful I am for a new outlook on my future life being pain free.

I am a 36 year old male who had lumbar disc replacement surgery in 2010 after years of suffering with debilitating lower back pain. Dr. McLain was very sympathetic during my visits before surgery. He expressed complete confidence that the surgery would work for my case. The surgery and recovery process were exactly as he described and I would have choose to have the surgery again without hesitation. I have had zero issues or pain with my back since the surgery and have the utmost confidence

I had a spinal fusion at L4-L5 and a laminectomy in October, 2016. I am so happy with the results. Dr. McLain was my second opinion. After suffering with leg pain and numbness and being miserable for so long I knew surgery was my only option. I am so glad I took that leap of faith. I had my annual appointment today and the fusion is solid and all looks good.

Dr McLain is wonderful. I drive about an hour to see him. Worth the drive. His humor and bedside manner was very helpful while dealing with my neck pain and subsequent surgery. Although his assistant is sweet, she is terrible about returning phone calls. I’m having another issue with my neck and I’ve been waiting for almost 2 weeks for her to get back to me with my results.Would definitely referr him to anyone in need of an orthopedic specialist.

I have had a very good experience with my disc replacements, and have already recommended this surgeon to friends that are experiencing the same excruciating pain in neck/upper back I was experiencing b/f surgery. I am very pleased with my outcome.

Dr. McLain did surgery on me 13 years ago, so when I needed more surgery I knew he was worth traveling for. I live in Wilmington,NC and we made needed trips to NE Ohio to make the surgery happen,1000's of miles. I was more than pleased to see that the years had not changed Dr. McLain. He has a great bedside manner. He is very kind,but professional, he is an excellent communicator. If you need surgery,he will explain why, if he cannot help your issue,he is very honest.I HIGHLY recommend him.

do not go to this man for treatment!
