I have seen Dr. Schepsis for a few issues in the past and he is the only one that truly took my best interest to heart. Other doctors immediately wanted to oporated and he was the only one that said lets take a steo back and try pt and other treatments before turning my life upside down with surgery. Other doctors had given up me and he would not. He has never told me to stop running forever. He encouranges stronly to let the body heal and be smart. not give up.
After waiting around for almost 3 HOURS!! this doctor told me to stop running! I thought this was a "SPORTS MEDICINE" facility? I'm not sure how this guy became the Director of Sports Medicine when he is grossly overweight and tells his patients to stop running! Guess I need to go somewhere where they actually repspect patient's time schedule and know a little bit about how to exercise themselves!
Dr. Oates may have been the rudest professional I have ever come across. His condescending, brash nature was appalling. In addition, his staff collected $2k from me though my insurance covered the services. I had to battle with his office staff to get the money back though I confirmed that they were paid by the carrier. Please avoid this physician.
I found him insensitive and full of a lot of hot air. I think he needs a brush up on how to go about delivering client-centered care. My partner (a man) didn't mind his manner, but I left feeling that the visit was more about him and had maybe just a little about us. He didn't ask very many questions. At one point, I made an incorrect assumption, and his response was dismissive and insensitive. He made me feel pretty stupid and insecure. Dr Oates is clear and concise in his explanations. He explains the options available and the risks and benefits of each choice.-And certainly Dr Oates is not unfriendly.
Unbelievable!!! We did not think after doing all our research....and listening to so many outsiders that we would be able to conceive. After Dr. Oates' performed the reversal (a second one)...within two months we conceived. Truly blessed to have such profound Doctors.
Dr. Oates performed a vasovasectomy (reverse vasectomy) on my husband. At the same time and upon his suggestion, he retreived some sperm in case the operation didn't work. Not only did the operation work fine, but the saved sperm came in handy too. We used it for an IVF procedure which worked beautifully. Because of Dr. Oates, I now have 2 beautiful boys.
A year after rupturing my hamstring and initially not being diagnosed properly by another physician, Dr. Schepsis' skillful repair enabled me to resume all the athletic pursuits I had previously enjoyed. It feels just like it did before the injury. Most importantly, you can have open and honest communication with the guy. In my mind, he is all you could ask for in a doctor who specializes.
