I visited Robeks Fresh Juices & Smoothies and ordered the Cookie Monster smoothie (cacao nibs, chocolate, frozen yogurt, vanilla almond milk, recovery blend, and whey protein—about 54–57g of protein). The taste was good, but not something I’d personally order again. I do wish they had a cookies and cream option—that would be a great addition. The smoothie was really good, and I’ve been going to Robeks for the past three years—I love that place. I’ve also tried Smoothie King and Tropical Smoothie Cafe, but they taste too sweet and artificial to me. Robeks is the best—they make everything from scratch with real fruit like pineapple, fresh vegetable juices, smoothies, and açaí bowls, which is a huge bonus. I came there for juice. There pineapple was frozen, owner stupidly suggested to add water with pineapple so it can melt. Very dumb recommendation. Why would they still have frozen pineapple at the end of a business day?
I’m a big fan of Robeks and especially their Nuts About Protein Performance shake, it’s usually my favorite and go-to shake. Lately, though, it hasn’t been as good. The texture has been too watery, and the flavor isn’t as rich as it used to be. I’m not sure if the ingredients or preparation have changed, but I wanted to share this feedback in hopes that the quality can be brought back to what it was.
